On Monday 25th November, strike action began at Universities across the UK. Here at the University of Birmingham, staff have been picketing at all entrance gates so we spoke to the staff there to find out the reasons behind the strike and how students can get involved. Listen to the report here:
The advice for students is:
Email the Vice-Chancellor (vc@bham.ac.uk) supporting staff.
Templates can be found on the NUS website here.
Attend teach-outs and support your lecturers in this way.
The full schedule can be found here.
Request a refund from the University for any teaching that you have missed as a result of strike action.
Don’t cross the picket lines. Join staff on the picket lines. Every gate will have picket lines from 8.30 am until midday.
