On Sunday the 30th of November, we ventured to the NEC to discover the delights of the BBC Good Food Show. We have never seen so much food in one place! As well as tasty treats, there were also a range of drinks and useful gadgets for the kitchen. It was the perfect day for any food lover! We specifically looked at things which we thought would make great Christmas gifts. Here’s what we came up with:
1. Custom Creams
As avid ice cream lovers, we were both intrigued when we came across the Custom Creams stall. Custom Creams present an alternative to traditional ice cream, offering customers a truly bespoke, ‘create your own’ ice-cream experience. Choosing either an Ice cream, sorbet or yoghurt base, you are then able to select your favourite flavours from their selection of fresh, seasonal ingredients which they then churn and freeze right in front of you! The use of Liquid nitrogen to flash freeze the mixture, results in an ice cream with the smoothest and silkiest texture you will ever experience! And the best part is you can now by an. eGift certificate which will allow you to share a little piece of ice cream heaven with your friends and family this Christmas.

2. Fudge Kitchen
Another perfect present for those with a sweet tooth would be the delicious treats found at the Fudge Kitchen Stall. From a selection of hand-crafted fudge, with flavours such as Rich Chocolate, Peanut butter and Orange to Sea Salted Caramel , you will definitely find something suitable for any fudge lover! All of the fudge produced by Fudge Kitchen is made with natural ingredients and is gluten free and vegetarian friendly. The brand have a new Devilishly Different Gourmet Butter Range, which includes Drinking Fudge, Fudge Sauces, Gift hampers, Dipped sticks and more, which would be perfect as Christmas presents and stocking fillers!

3. Baru
‘Chocolate wrapped Clouds’. That’s the phrase the contemporary brand Baru use to describe their range of chocolate covered marshmallows. If that doesn’t sound like a great Christmas gift for a chocolate lover I don’t know what does! The bite size marshmallow treats are made from a carefully developed recipe which includes honey and ground vanilla pods which create a melt in the mouth experience. Baru also produce a range of other delicious chocolaty treats such a Dreamy Chocolate Hippos, and also have a range of Christmas gift hampers. Baru’s range is available at Wholefoods, Harvey Nichols and selected independent retailers.

4. Flavour Sense Nation
Flavour SenseNation isn’t just your average sweet stall. They sell sweets which have been scientifically created to play to all of your senses to make sure you receive the best taste experience from their sweets. Some of their best selling products include the cocktail flavoured dib-dabs and ‘hot and cold’ sweets. The latter of those uses two different types of sugar, one which gives a warm sensation when you eat it, and the other a cold sensation, making eating this sweet a real experience! Their unique qualities and fantastic flavour make these perfect Christmas presents.

6. Med Foods
There were many med food stalls at the Good Food Show, but the one that caught our eye was the sweet and nut stall. There was a huge variety of nuts, all cooked in different ways to increase the range of flavours. The sweet cables made your mouth water just looking at them, and with such an extensive assortment of flavours we were spoiled for choice! Other foods they sell are: baklava, dried fruit, Turkish delight and olives.
