Strike the Gold Foods – Blue Swimming Crab:
This company is awesome because of its ethical practices enforced and because of the delicious crab it sells. The crab is caught off the coast of Indonesia. Sustainable and ethical practices are enforced while catching the crab and the workers are treated ethically as well. The company employs nearly 6,000 people, and their families are well looked after for ten months of the year during work times. Workers get a month off for Ramadan and they get an additional four weeks of vacation. Unlike usual European crab, Blue Swimming crab is not a bottom feeder. It spends most of its time swimming or towards the top of the sea, therefore it is much less salty and gritty. It can be found at Spar as well as some other stores, and it tasted absolutely delicious. This company’s practices need to be applauded and followed.
