The UK’s first ever National Badminton League is here!
On December 1st BIRMINGHAM LIONS will face the UNIVERSITY OF NOTTINGHAM in the universities great hall. This event will host a number of big stars from the world of badminton such as the lions very own Heather Olver who’s major achievements have been: European and Commonwealth medal. Mixed Doubles winner of Yonex Welsh International (with Chris Langridge), Final of the 2013 London Grand Prix and Scottish Open Grand Prix. This is a one time chance to see this event within the grounds of our very own university.

The national badminton league is made up of six franchise teams including: Birmingham Lions, University of Nottingham Sport Badminton, Surrey Smashers, Milton Keynes Badminton, Loughborough Sport and Team Derby will compete in monthly match nights for the inaugral NBL title.
Featuring a modified version of professional badminton games, the NBL is changing perceptions of badminton with new rules and a new attacking format making the game faster and more thrilling than ever.
