In Brews and Reviews, Jess, Marieta and Chloe grab a hot drink and chat about nostalgic moments from pop culture. Do the landmarks of childhood, from Horrible Histories to Harry Styles, still hold up today? Or, like a brew left on the kitchen counter for too long, have they gone cold?
After giving some context to the uninitiated listener, each show will explore the good and the problematic parts of its topic. Occasionally, we will be joined by special guests to present expertise on a subject and contribute to the review. Audience members are also invited to send their thoughts to brewsandreviews2@gmail.com and vote on the subject’s relevance. Ultimately, the show will conclude with the hosts deciding whether the ‘brew’ has stayed hot or gone cold.
Across the year, we’ll discuss all elements of pop culture, including television shows, albums, books, celebrities, movies and more. We’ll do seasonal specials too: for example, a RomCom special for Valentine’s Day. We’ll also have ‘espresso’ shows occasionally where we can speed review smaller topics in a quickfire round.
