At a black tie event at the Custard Factory in Digbeth on Saturday night, Head of Station Joe McDowell presented Riley with the award after a year spent building the website burnfm.com from scratch.
The website, which allows viewers to listen live to the station whilst also browsing through articles, checking out show profiles and catching up on shows they missed, has been an ongoing project for the Webmaster with further new features and improvements in the pipeline over the summer.
Speaking to Regional Editor Alex Seftel after the ceremony, Riley said that he was, “extremely humbled,” to have been recognised for his work in “building a platform in which people can express their true journalistic quality.”
The Burn Awards celebrated the achievements of many different elements of the society. The following people were also recognised for their contribution to the station this year.
