Last night Burn FM hosted The Burn Ball at the Old Library in the Custard Factory. The event recognised some major achievements in Burn this past year.
The Order of the BurnFMpire is the award given to those whose contribution to Burn has been outstanding in the past year. However, this year there was a surprise! The award was given to two members of the Burn FM team instead of just one. The previous winner of the award, Matt Riley (Webmaster) gave an eloquent speech and announced Calum Ridyard (Head of Tech) and Lexi Hemming (Deputy Head of Tech) as this year’s winners of the prestigious award. Congratulations to you both.
Another twist of events was the unveiling of a new Award this year! The Alfie Thompson Award is recognition for those who have been on the Burn FM committee for 3 years or more and have given up massive amounts of their time to make Burn the best! Congratulations Alfie Thompson on this award, a well deserved recognition of your efforts.
The other Awards were won by the following:
Production Team Member of the Year: Sabah Ijaz
Arts Team Member of the Year: Hattie Jordan
News Team Member of the Year: Benji Hyer
Music Team Member of the Year: Pablo Doyle
Sports Team Member of the Year: Brittany Holder

Best Specialist Show: Dubsoc (Tom Ballantyne)
Best Newcomer: Dan Wooton
Best Event: BUCS Nationals (The Sports Team)
