With the recent opening of the Westmere building as a postgraduate research hub; a clean, practical and attractive venue for PHD students to work and relax together, it would seem that choosing to begin your research at the University of Birmingham is currently a very attractive option.
Burn FM’s deputy manager and only Postgraduate on the committee went along to the Westmere’s Halloween evening of pumpkin carving to check out what the building had to offer as a unique space for doctoral researchers.
A key aspect of what makes the Westmere such an appealing looking location for study comes in its design, retaining elements of the building’s original 19th century charm and modernizing around them to create a warm, comfortable and attractive work space, leading to healthier, happier research.
