Stourbridge based singer-songwriter, Sean Stewart, releases his third single ‘Jogging Round My Mind’. It has taken a more country/ bluesy feel than Stewart’s previous releases, with more emphasis on keys and percussion, which shine beautifully in the instrumental section in the second half of ‘Jogging Round My Mind’.
The track begins fairly upbeat then the soothing melodic vocals envelops and blends with the instruments, to form one of those tracks that you listen to once and you find yourself singing along to the chorus a couple of hours later. The B-Side of the single, ‘Don’t Let My Love Come In Late’, is slightly slower but fits in perfectly with Stewart’s own brand of country-folk music. Lyrically, he has written two approachable and uplifting love songs which also have a general message: let go of the things and people that hold you back, and embrace the opportunities in your life.
It is clear that a lot of work has gone into this single, and it has definitely paid off! If there’s one thing you can count on with Sean Stewart is country-folk music that will make all your troubles go away – just put him on repeat to avoid exam blues! He joins the many Birmingham artists who are on the rise; head down to the launch gig on Sunday 18th May at Katie Fitzgerald’s if you can!
