V Festival has announced quite possibly the two biggest pop stars at the moment as its headliners for this year. The festival is set to play host to both Justin Bieber and Rihanna. After the festival season, Bieber will then return for the UK leg of his ‘Purpose’ tour later in October, whilst Rihanna is set to tour her newest album ‘Anti’ in Britain throughout the Summer. With it being the event’s 21st birthday this year, it seems festival goers are in for quite the celebration.
The two day event is set to take place on August 20-21st on both its usual turfs of Weston Park in Staffordshire and Chelmsford’s Hylands Park, with artists crossing over to both sites. Acts that have been announced for the predominately pop-based festival include Sia, David Guetta, Little Mix and Faithless, among others.
It has also been unveiled that BBC Radio 1 will host a new stage at both sites, which a line up of dance acts will soon be curated for. Whilst having dominated charts all around the globe for the past 6 months, Bieber will be gracing the events as his only UK festival date this year. After an explosive performance at last week’s Brit awards, where he scooped up the award for Best International Male Artist, fans will undoubtedly be in for a real treat as he takes to the stage.
