What Morgan Loves About BURN: “I have loved every single moment of my involvement with BURN FM. From commentating on the Mens and Women Rugby Teams of the University of Birmingham for BUCS Wednesdays, the Brum Varsity between the Mens 1st Team vs Birmingham Medical School, BUCS Nationals and being a co-host of my own show, the Brum Rugby Show. BURN FM was the best society I ever joined across my three universities: Bath Spa, Helsinki and Birmingham”.

Dan Wooton
Years Active: 2015-18,
Role: Member of the sports team 2015-17; shows team 2016-18, Programme Controller 2016-17, Head of Station (President) 2017-18
Highlights at Burn: A highlight for me has to be the 2016 and 2017 BUCS Nationals coverage with the sports team. Going all the way up to Sheffield with your Burn pals and seeing some great sport was huge fun both years, the vlogs especially in second year was a funny twist on it all (they’re in the Burn Sport Facebook videos collection somewhere). Although I can’t forget how great it was to be Head of Station when Burn was highly commended for the Ian King Award for Outstanding Society at the 2018 Guild Awards! I haven’t heard of Burn getting a high commendation or winning before so to even be shortlisted was a great surprise and to actually come away from an awards night with something rewarding all of o
ur hard work was a great way to end my time at Burn!
What Dan Loves about Burn: Everything! I was in the sports team for my first two years and that was brilliant – the social side of it was great as well as the commentaries. Having shows was fun too, getting mates on the air with me, chatting about the news or music, it was always enjoyable. Being on committee for two years, leading one, was a privilege too. You become such a close group of mates by being on committee and I’ve made some of my best friends from uni that way.
