It is once again time for Guild Elections, your chance to decide who gets to take control of your student union and here at Burn FM we have all the information you will need to know.
There are seven full time officer position and a further eight part time positions that fulfil a range of functions within the Guild, voting opens 10.00 am 25th February, ends at 4.00 pm 1st March and the results will be announced on the 2nd March.
To get your questions to the candidates, come along to the various hustings taking place during campaign week:

The President of the guild of student is the leader of student voice on campus and is part of a great deal of boards and committees that make huge decisions across our campus and so plays a vital role in ensuring that students are listened to. They are also involved in coordinating the rest of the officers to ensure that their plans for an ever-better student experience can be fulfilled. The current President is Reece Patrick Roberts.

Activities and Employability Officer
University is not simply about getting a degree and leaving, there are a huge range of opportunities to take advantage of from societies to volunteering or even part-time jobs. The AEO is responsible for overseeing all of these amazing opportunities so that every student has the opportunity to leave with a range of skills outside of academia whilst enjoying their time as much as possible. The current AEO is Robyn Macpherson.

There are also fantastic opportunities to participate in a wide range of sports at the University of Birmingham and the Sports Officer is there to represent student voice in both UB Sport and the Guild. They aim to make sure the university has a healthy and positive sporting atmosphere for everyone, from those new to sports to those attempting to reach their peak athletic potential. The current Sports Officer is Simon Price.

Welfare and Community Officer
This role is there to support each and every student through their time at university and your health, wellbeing and happiness are their number one priority. They seek to ensure that every student from a first year in halls to those living in Selly Oak and beyond have all the support that you may need to fully make the most of your time at university. The current WCO is Izzy Bygrave.
The Education Officer is here to make sure that you have the best education experience possible at the University of Birmingham. They will be able to support you in your endeavours and are there to answer any questions that you may have about what educational opportunities are available to you during your time here. The current Education Officer is Adam Goldstone.

Around 50% of the students at this university are postgraduate students and this can often be overlooked. The Postgraduate Officer is here to ensure that your voice is heard and that there are plenty of opportunity for postgraduate students to be fully integrated into the rest of the student population. Not only ensuring that they can experience the same societies and opportunities that undergraduates can but also overseeing the vibrant postgraduate community. The current Postgraduate Officer is Jessica Small.

As a university of international reputation, the University of Birmingham has a large number of students that do not come from the UK and this comes with a range of challenges that the International Officer is here to help with. They seek to help make life easier for those still getting used to the country and also to celebrate the immensely diverse community that the university has, hosting cultural events and holding international socials. The current International Officer is Joanne Park.
